Default Gears for '98 Ram 1500

I've been looking for a while and can't find a place to order some gears. I have a 1998 1500 that's running stock 3.55s. I have a 3" lift and 285/75R16s so I'm thinking I should upgrade the gears on this thing before I kill my tranny towing my boat.

Any suggestions? I looked at the gears thread and see people like the Yukons but I couldn't find a spot on ringpinion.com to order them.

I'm thinking of going with 4.11s. Would 4.56s be better or too much? I'd like to be able to highway travel with this truck yet. That's why I was thinking 4.11s.

Thanks!

EDIT: I feel like an idiot. I found them. Dana Spicer D44 Front and Chrysler 9.25 year, correct? Still would like input on the ratio though. The boat is 3050lbs dry with a 1000lb tailer.

4.56 is too much gear for that small of a tire. Step down at least one ratio if not down to 3.90.
I don't like having work done there but, prices for just buying parts aren't too bad at 4-wheel parts. There's also rockauto.

4.56 gears would have you running 2300 RPM at 72MPH. That doesn't seem so bad?

That would be with O/D off, right? I think I still would want lower RPMs. 4.10 or 4.11 sounds like it's what I want.

Thanks guys!

I ran 4.56 with my 285's for about 6 months before i went to 35's. Worked Great! Highway and around town....in my opinion you can't go wrong with 4.56 and if you ever wanna go bigger on tires you can . Good Luck !

Nope. that's fourth gear, and TCC locked.

Wrong at 60 I'm running 2200 rpm thats on 30" rubbers.

EDIT: I didn't take into account tire size.
