Default Has anyone replaced the fabric on your door panel?

Like the title says, i'd like to know if anyones tackled replacing that nasty fabric on the door panels.

I recently had some katzkin covers put in my truck and the place i had it done said it would be an extra $150 to do the doors so i thought i'd take a crack at it myself.

Once i got the door panel off i realized the way the piece that has the fabric on it is mounted to the panel makes it impossible to just snap back on once removed.

Any ideas on how i can get it to go back on once i bust those plastic rivet looking things off?

One member on here did it, and also his headline, in camo.

Can't remember which one though.... a search for 'headliner' in the topic title should turn it up.

I did this with my doors. To get it back on I used a plastic welder with some scrap plastic I had laying around.

Plastic welder...thanks for the tip. Did you just glue the new material on or did you staple it back also? Looks like they would have to be some really shallow staples not to go all the way through

I used staples around the edge and glue in the middle. I put the camo over the stock carpet stuff so it would have more cushion. That made it thick enough where the staples were hidden.

Yeah thats going to be my problem. The leather is so thin staples would definetly poke thru. I'm guessing the 3M spray adhesive i have will hold well. As for the edges i may have to use super glue or something. Anyone know if it will eat through or mess up leather?

super glue or the 3m shouldn't hurt leather, I'm not a professional though. What kind of leather are you going to use?

I'm using the same leather that came with my katzkin kit. Woulda cost extra to get the shop to do it. After tearing all the old stuff off last night i almost think it would have been worth it.
