Default Steering gear questions

I'm trying to replace the pitman seals, I have been researching the procedure. It says remove pitman arm, four bolts on top cover, remove snap-ring from bottom side, then washer and then the first seal>>> So I have removed the pitman arm and started to cleaned up the inside to prepare to pull the seal and get at the snap-ring. Well, there is no snap-ring or washer, just the seal. Now I'm a little unsure. Is there supposed to be a snap ring there? Does anyone have a link to a break down of our steering boxes? 95 1500 4x4
I'm trying to this with the box still installed in the truck.

There should be a snap ring and washer after you take the seal out, dont have to remove them when just dealing with the seal, I dont know how many seals you got, but when mine was leaking I just replaced the pitman seal that is on the bottom of the box, the one you have taken out and then the seal for the side cover and then put it back together

Yeah went back and know what seal your talking about, what manual you using to do this and you should be able to see the 2 holes for the snap ring with the first seal out

So your saying that snap ring is behind the seal I'm looking at from the bottom side?
