just my $.02 i spoke with a guy from randys ring and pinion a while back, and he said that posi and LSD are the EXACT same thing, LSD is the english(european) term for posi which is what us americans call it.

Posi(-trac) was what I think GM first called it when they started using it. They had a couple different methods of limiting slip..... "Limited Slip" is technically the correct term for it, Posi is just GM's trade name for it. But yes, they are exactly the same thing. And then..... there are lockers.

I just read the first page, and it is NIGHT AND DAY difference driving in the snow with 2wd and 4wd. 2wd will have me sideways making a left turn at a 4 way stop sign with BFG all terrain TA KO tires. 4wd and I can sail through very easily.

Wait ok so I always thought that posi simply meant the same as a locker as in wheels spin the same speed no mater what. So posi is just GM's nam for the lsd huh? And I do in fact have the anti spin (as chyrsler refers to it as) differential, its in my build sheet . I can power through icy streets like a champ as long as I am in 4 hi but just rear drive even with the lsd I spin ALOT lol but I guess thats normal for a pickup with no weight over the drive wheels. So while I was measuring different things I went ahead and measured my tires which clearly say 33x12.50 on the sidewall but they only measure barely 31" sup with that? lol

you should have the Trac-Lok on your truck. If it is clean you will see a paper tag coated in plastic on the left side of the axle by the drum housing.

Trac-lok=posi=lsd

They transfer weight to the wheels if it senses one wheel is spinning freely and the other is doing nothing. Sucks they name it trac-lok because that implies that it is a locker.

SEVEN inch Blocks??????? Ouchie. That is going to REALLY give the rear axle some leverage on the springs. That is going to be a wheel-hoppin' monster.
