if anything i would get shorty headers and just run 2 1/4 true duals
I have already purchased the Pacesetter Long-tubes and they are brand new sitting in the garage ...so they are going in regardless . It just feels like there is more power hidden in that 318, and when i'm stepping into it it's fighting to push the exhaust out. Thanks for everyones advice.....I will let you know once i get them on.

yep if i had to do it all over again, i would do long tubes and 2 1/2 all the way out. though when you do 3" it has a deeper tone to the exhaust.

I think 1 5/8ths primaries would be best for an engine that wants to keep its bottom end, only trouble is, Pacesetter is the ONLY folks that make longtubes for our trucks. So, unlike the chevy crowd, we are very limited in our options.

Well I'll find out I guess.....Can't wait to get those bad boys on there......I get a little upset everytime I walk by the Box in the garage .....just gotta find the time. At least if I go down to 2 1/2" after the collectors I can reuse my Magnaflows .
