Restore Engine Restorer
My new catalytic converter is coming in on Monday. I got OEM because I couldnt find a high-flow one that was a pretty good price. My engine runs pretty good, doesnt burn hardly any oil after the plenum fix. Im just thinking about adding it to see if I can get a little more out of the old girl.
Im think about getting those 1.77 rocker arms, where could I get some at a good price, and do I need to get new valve covers?
Summit, Jegs, or numerous other 'performance parts distributors' sell 'em. And they should fit under the stock valve covers. Might need a bit of modification though, as in, removing a baffle or some such.
This is the least expensive place to get them from http://www.southeastperformance.com/. Talk to Jon Mercedes .And no modifications need to be done to the VC's if you get the S70037 rockers.
I was pointed, in another thread about this, to a website where they did extensive testing on the stuff....what they found was it does work but you should NOT use it every oil change and it should be drained and replaced with regular oil after about 300miles because of the way it works it can cause excessive wear on the engine over time.....Ive used it myself on 4 different vehicles and I can say the difference was noticable on some and not so much on others...but it works as a very mild abrasive which fills imperfections with the metal it wears off other surfaces...it also fills small leaks which can help stop leaking and oil consumpotion...

Ive already fixed the plenum and its still good. My truck doesnt have the death flash as far as I know. There is no sticker on the PCM. I will definetaly check out those rr's zman17. I probably need a new timing chain, so im gonna check that tomorrow as well.
