Chances are your dodge has a front axle dana 60. search it up, but several other trucks have used this same axle. so go to a junk yard and find a truck with the same axle ends (ie, king pin or ball joint) and just take all of the parts off of it right down to the caliper bracket and outer axle shafts. Then with alittle free time install them on your unit and there you go full floating locking hubs.

hope this helps, any questions just ask.
Doesn't work that way on a Dana 44, which is what the half tons have. The C's and spindles are totally diffeent from the old style 44. I have seen it done with the modern 60, but it nearly widened the track width by 2-3".

Actually, Ford is the only truck with locking hubs anymore. Dodge hasn't used them since 1993. And, the shafts actually haven't disconnected since 2002 (with a 3/4 ton)... no actuator at all, just solid shafts locked right to the hub.

I converted the front hubs on my '78 Cherokee to manual as part of part-timing the QuadraTrac, and gained 2-3MPG and a greatly reduced maintenance bill. I never calculated the actual savings, but I'm certain that I saved a pile of money over the next 360,000 miles I put on the thing.

I don't expect to be able to resist that Spyntec for too long.

I converted my full sized blazer from full time, to part time, and I got 1 mpg better mileage. Granted, over 360,000 miles..... you would probably save more than what you put into the conversion. Hopefully. But, I cheated, I bought the WHOLE truck that already had all the parts I needed. (along with a four inch lift.....) It got cannibalized over the course of about a year, and transferred to my blazer. (yeah, my 350 dollar special, that was probably the most reliable vehicle I have owned. )

Genxera The 3/4 and 1 tons had the dana 60 front. ALL of the half tons (by far the most numerous) have the dana 44, as has already been stated. (twice..... )

So the late model 44 (mine is a 98) has different inner Cs than a 70s Ford or Chevy? That sucks. I was hoping to put spindles and flat knuckles on it. Guess I have to replace the inner Cs, too.

Yeah, thats too much work on a POS axle. Might as well just get an early ford 44. That way you wont have to deal with the CAD junk too.
