dodge build thread
felt like just putting a quick build thread up.
picked up the truck a few months ago. about the only positive things were the toyo tires and a new transmission, the stereo and a set of rear airbags. paid 2k for it. it needed a bunch of things
truck needed a bunch of stuff. when i got it, it leaked power steering fluid, had a wobble, lots of clunks and as you can see the body was in bad shapre.
first thing up was to fix the ujoints; where i found the bad unitbearings. while i was at it, did a trackbar, tierods and now its all pretty much brand new in the front end.
up next was the steering box. found a unit on kijiji out of a 1 tonne. swapped that in and presto! i had decent steering again. at this point, truck was running ok. still need lots though.
next came the lift. the truck had a few broken rear leafs. found some used springs, and made a custom pack with an adda leaf and another overload for some lift. made the truck run great. for the front, i added diesel coils out of an 01' and set of 3" superlift shocks. truck rides a bit stiff but overall its ok. tires are now 35" BFGs got off a buddy. cut the fenders to clear em.
last few things; had to fix my headlights. found that out on this site: the multifunction switch was the culprit. swapped it out and now they work! also found a towhook/bracket at picknpull for 4$ amazing!
last issue was the body; i have been putting it off....... until this weekend.
the dents were a pain in the butt........ i tried but couldn't pull it. so i basically just ground all the rust out, leveled off a few spots and body filled it in. then i started taping off for the spots i wanted to gatorguard/bedline... i love gatorguard hahaha
all in all took the better part of the weekend, but i think it looks a lot better now!!!!!!!!!1
anyways, its almost done now its come a long way from the piece of junk i bought a few months ago..........
cheers,
John

1st...Thank you for answering the age old question, Do old skool white wagon rims look good on a 2nd gen?
Answer: They do indeed!
2nd: I am once again reminded why I live in the hot south...No salt= No rust.
3rd: The truck now reminds me of a racoon on wheels...or ummm....the dog on Jonny Quest. Bandit! That was the dogs name.
