4wd actuator issues
What does everyone recommend for a replacement if the diaphragm is bad?
Obviously the Dormans are ubiquitous but I'm loathe to buy anything Dorman. I'd only do it thru AutoZone or O'Reilly for the LT warranty but swapping a failed Dorman once a season (I'm only guessing, based upon every other piece of garbage they produce) seems like an unnecessary hassle...

So, ideally I need a solution where the light coincides with reality.....I wish the t-case could be fitted with a plunger switch like Ford and GM so it's actuated internally by the shift arm....
Yeah I just rigged one to stay locked but unfortunately this truck is driven by a lot of different people and they're confused if the 4wd light doesn't come on (if I were to simply defeat it), or if it stays on full-time they think it's in 4wd no matter what.

Same here, however, my Dorman actuator did stop working and after pulling it out, I found that the rod just needed to be freed up and greased, since I'm not a big 4WD user.
Holy shiznit you guys are geniuses....seriously! What application Wrangler? YJ? Is this available at AutoZone or O'Reilly?
How did this happen and what else got damaged? You may have vacuum at the cad but not enough. The metal lines along the frame rust and can get blocked if moisture gets in. Do you vents work? If not the check valves aren't allowing vacuum to accumulate in the reservoir witch effects the cad operation also. When you had the cad off did you look at the slide collar and the gear? They can get chewed up.
I got one for a 2007 (I believe) wrangler. It screws ivy the transfer case one the wranglers and the hole is the same size.
I would permanently lock the cad then if you need the 4x4 light to work I believe you could screw a switch in for a Jeep or Dakota where the vacuum switch is on yours. I have 2 Jeep transfer cases and a Dodge NP231 sitting in the shed I am going to test this on but I keep forgetting.
