The leak detection pump is right behind the passenger side headlamp. There is a diagram on the EVAP system system on a label under the hood which depicts its location. I ordered a new LDP from Ebay. I figure it shuold be a simple swap.

Question. What size engine do you have?

kinda wondering if my jeep has the same setup as our trucks..... we've been getting p0442, and got p0455 once. i cleared the code last week, and topped off the tank, and the code didnt come back til we got to just under a half tank, so im thinking the rubber hoses are toast. at least its a mopar product, what do you guys think? oh, its a 1998 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 haha

Yup, just a little different in the placement. Thanks for digging this up and doing it with up dates. I have some more hoses to find.

http://www.obd-codes.com/p0455

Causes

A code p0455 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:
  • A loose or improperly affixed gas cap
  • A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand)
  • Other leak or damaged piece in EVAP system
Possible Solutions

With a p0455, the most common repair is to:
  • Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.
  • Otherwise, replace the gas cap, and/or
  • Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses (you may hear a vacuum noise or smell fuel), repair if necessary
