Default Bored lets talk power ! !

was thinking of 2 exspensive options but it has to be either 1 or the other. Looking for more take off power and dunno what too do

option 1- 4.10 gears with lsd

option 2- clearwater heads with the edelbrock airgap. reason is because the bottom end of our motors are bullet proof and the top end suck. like our prone cracked heads and the plenum leak. what would i net with these ?

and is 2.02 heads too big for the bolt ons i have or should i stick with 1.92 ? and are these good for 1.7 harland sharps.

heads- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-E...ts_Accessories

airgap- http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/p...p?partid=24773

would i net more 0-60 with option 1 or 2 ? any other ideas ?

man, if you're pulling heads, and power is your game- you may as well cam it..

floggin' $2k? I hope not!

I've got 4.56's in the tool box right now from Moe's ($599 shipped), and a hard quote of $600 for install... the only thing that can push it up that high is carriers- and I have my fingers crossed I can land new at a rockin' price before I go to get them installed!!!

gears... instant torque... mighty helpful in other areas such as towing and mudding/trailing..

heads/cam... stresses the engine more than it should.. balances have to be met (what goes in must come out) and all that..

foolproof for a daily driver? gears buddy... but dang, heads and a cam sound hot..

I got the gears from some guy on craigslist. I had a guy that sets up rear ends for all the drag racers at the track do them I had to take the diffs out and take them to him. He did one at a time it took him 1 day for each. I love the 4.10s I went from getting 8-12MPG to 14-16MPG I have a lot more power and still run just under 2000RPM at 70 so all in all I love them. The only thing I had to learn how to take off on wet roads it wants to spin so much easer.

Edit
I was told the gears were used but they looked new. They were oem gears so I would say they were used. The guy that put them in said that they did not even look like they had any miles on them.
