Death Wobble..HELP!
Don't need a pic of everything, just a shot of where you were told the bushing are shot. Needs to go to an alignment shop also.
BTW! Great pic JR. And I agree with the trac bar recommendation.

ok, i don't know much about lifts, but i'll play.
according to the link above, she's got longer control arms, so that's good.
what's wrong with having a drop bracket on the track bar?
i'd think that rough country has sold a million of these, and tested them.
could this be as simple as needing an alignment?
AB, have you had it lined up since putting on the lift?
post what parts you were told you needed. it'd be shame to spend another $800 and it not fix the problem.
damn nice picture JR.
Kit Contents:Front coil springs, upper and lower control arms, sway bar drop brackets, track bar drop bracket, polyurethane bushings, 4 RC Hydro 8000 series, u-bolts, and rear blocks.

No I have not had it aligned since the lift was put on. I was told that I needed the dual stabilizer, tie rod ends, some kinda bushings but I forgot what he said for, and my tires balanced..thats where he came up with the $800..I already have the dual stabilizer on my truck and I had my tires balanced yesterday, I honestly dont know how to tell about the tie rod ends..thanks everyone for your input but im still trying to learn what everything is and how it works and im kinda having to teach myself and learn from pictures and other peoples advice..but I still dont see paying $400 in labor at a mech shop. I thought maybe having my tires balanced would help but when i took it out afterwards it still drove the same, im scared that all the movement may mess something else up so I dont drive it..
if the tires have been balanced and everything with the lift kit was installed and torqued properly, then it's possible it has nothing to do with lift...have you checked to see if the rear driveshaft has play in it?...back in March, my truck shook violently when i sped up from a stop...it turned out the u-joint located on the rear differential side wore out so much that the rear driveshaft started to wobble, damaging the yoke, and causing the entire truck to shake when i drove it...it ended up costing about $400 to have the rear driveshaft repaired and rebalanced, and the u-joint and yoke replaced
who told you that you needed that stuff? your installer? a front end alignment shop? a different mechanic (that does or doesn't do alignment?)
you can check most front end parts by having an assistant turn the wheel back and forth while you look/feel at the parts. as things change direction, you want no play in the joints.
for some parts, you can stick a crowbar in beside the part and pry against it and check for play/movement.
things you should check are both ends of the trackbar, tie rod ends, ball joints, wheel bearings etc. fix anything that's obvious, and then take it to a good front end shop for check, test drive, alignment.
the only bushings i can think of are control arms (which might be new) and sway bar (which is unrelated) and the sway bar end link things (which might be new).
i think i'd get a second opinion before dropping another $800. that sounds like a lot of money for not all that much goodies.

Like most have said get a real good front end alignment done. So looking at the parts that are in the kit I don't see a drop pitman arm, without it you will get bad bump steer, get this before you do the alignment. And yes you need it.
Edit:I see it is listed in the install instructions so may you have one, check this out to make sure you do

You are going to have to bite the bullet and get it aligned, you will have to replace any worn items (tie rod ends, bushings and such). Lifting the truck changes alignment and the worn parts magnify the problem.
i had the same problem when i put my 37s on i replaced trac bar with hd one replaced ball joints and tierods and still couldn't get it to go away i had two options crossover steering conversion via thuren fab or bds dual stabilizers. i put the dual stabilizers on two yrs ago and it hasnt wobbled since i retained my rancho stabilizer on the factory mounts as well so i'm running three and it works wonderfully and my wobble was soo bad it broke the tranny support brackets, exhaust, and lower passenger side ear off my engine block.
The mech that told me that had nothing to do with my lift and he owns a diesel shop and I was told by someone to go to him and see what he said about it. Yes, my lift came with a drop pitman arm. Would a Haynes book help any with this? I wasnt sure cause I lifted my truck..wasnt sure if it would help or not..
crawlin95: Yeah when I was explaining to people the way my truck was acting they kept telling me that my tires needed balancing and thought I was exaggerating about how bad it was shaking, then I had a friend of mine drive it, he owns a lifted dodge ram 2500 2nd gen, and he was blown away by how bad it was..I hate not knowing for sure what is wrong with it
