Was the new PCM updated with the VIN for your Dakota? If not, that tends to annoy a few systems on the truck.

Two Dodge dealerships told me sorry we can't help you. The service managers both said the VIN on the one in my truck can not be changed to fit my truck. They said toss it out buy a blank one and have it coded to my VIN. Or live with the ding ding ding and blinking ABS light.
What do I say to these people to get them to understand the service need I require ? None of their techs have a clue ?

Apparently not.... Check around to various independent shops, one of them should have the ability to update the VIN in your PCM.
