Default clutch

I had a southbend clutch installed about 4 months ago, and they also replaced the hydraulics. I recently started having problems getting the truck into 2nd, and it's near impossible to get into reverse. I shut the truck off, but it in first, started it up with the clutch pushed all the way in and the starter rolls the truck forward. Is there any adjustment for the linkage between the pedal and the hydraulics?

Hydraulic clutch is not really adjustable that I am aware of. Take it back to where you had the work done, and have them have a look at it.

My plan is to take it back to them, but I thought maybe there is something adjustable in the mechanical linkage from the pedal to the hydraulics. I'm not going to pay them to adjust something I could do myself. But if that's not the issue, it's definitely their problem. Haha

They shouldn't charge you anything..... any adjustment at the pedal would need to be done at initial install..... and that's just about pedal free play.

Something probably is leaking.... did you check the fluid level?

+1 on checking fluid. if it was working ok and now its not, you may have lost some fluid.

My clutch is pretty much totally shot now, and I've hardly driven it since the original post. I didn't check the fluid level, because there is no reason it should be leaking. I will check tomorrow though.

Fluid was fine. If anything, it was too full, when I put the rubber thing back in, a little bit of fluid came out.

I took the cap off again, and stood in the cab so I could watch the reservoir. The level in the reservoir did not change when I pumped the clutch.

Now I'm thinking about it, and the fluid level in the reservoir shouldn't change when the clutch is pressed.

you probably know this already, but there is a bleeder screw on the slave cylinder, try bleeding it....you will need another person, but bleed it just like a brake and see if it helps.
