Because on the 95, the balance weights were on the torque converter. Need to make sure converter matches the motor.

I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 I just bought it had the 318 now has a 2001 5.9 . I was told the motor came out of a 2wd ... I have the pcm to both motors but am not sure if the 5.9 pcm being 2wd matters don’t really think it does but I’m not sure rather be safe then sorry and so if I do get a new pcm what year do i get the 98 5.9 or the 2001 5.9 ? Also has no o/d or cruise control? Any idea if the pcm would cause this or is it going more likely be a sensor or Solenoid or switch I have done my research but just want to talk to some people with more experience
