Default 5.2/5.9 Swap

The engine in my 2000 4x4 truck needs changed, it currently has a 5.2. I found a 2001 5.9, so what do I need to do to put in a 5.9 (will it mount ok and will the electronics work)?

I swapped mine out and was told I needed a new torq converter for the 5.9 from a tranny man but I didnt. A year and a half later when I had my tranny rev failure I swapped it out then.
Diffently flexplate swap other then that I dont think I did anything else.
I have wondered everysince if the pcm needed to be changed"control module"
I guess I'll use the SEARCH button as the NICE gentlemen mentioned above to answer that ?.

5.2's are internally balanced. 5.9's are externally balanced.

Everything will not plug and bolt on accordinally, its less or no head ache if you stick with your 5.2L If it was carburated, it a whole differnt story..

that is not true at all. the 318 and 360 are one in the same. the 360 may be a little bigger, but all the connections are the same. all he would have to do is get the correct torque converter and the correct pcm and it will bolt right in.

Torque Converter is the same too. Just needs to use the flexplate from the 360 and a PCM flash.
