Default Well Im Back

hey guys im back from iraq and all that sorry it took so long to get on here but i had some family emergencies and stuff. but i have been gettin my truck and car fixed up in the meantime. but you will never guess what happened the night i got home from iraq, im driving home and had to put on the brakes and the damn line blew and the pedal went to the floor. i blew a whole in one of the metal lines above the rear axle on the frame. it was all rusted. abs and brake light came on right when it happened. so i gimped it home and i JB welded the leak so it wouldnt leak on the parking lot. and anyways, i goto the shop tomorrow to see what he says, but i figured id see what yal think about it too. thanks for the replies, and i will get pics up of the truck now that i have done things too it.later guys.

Hey! Nice to see you made it back.

If the one line blew, check the rest of them while you are under there. ESPECIALLY the one that goes over the gas tank......

Hope life is treating you at least reasonably well.

welcome back and it seems it pretty easy to do your own brake lines, I havent needed to do it but there is plenty of people on here that have done it, and it could save you alot of money.

oh yea thanks for your service

its the metal line that runs inside the frame. no one sells it, it has to be custom bent from tubing. i found a place that said they could get the line replace it and the fluid and bleed it all for like 300 which is cheaper than the other place i called. so i dunno what ima do. ugh! cant ever go overseas without sometihng happening to your cars when you get back grrrrrrrrrr

Just pick up some line, and a coupler, and do it yourself. Draft one of your buddies to play pedal pusher, and do it yourself for about 20 bucks.

welcome back.
universal lines are pretty cheap, and a tubing bender is only about $10. if your blowout was not the one over the gas tank, go ahead and replace it too. it will be next. you don't have to remove the old one, just slide the new one in alongside and wire tie them together where you can reach.

Welcome Back comrade in Arms!!!

My truck was never the same after I got back (my 1996). I had it sitting in the lot for a year and it would not start. I needed 2 bottles of drygas and 5 gallons of fresh gas.

Then it seemed like the truck just fell apart. I junked it 4 years later after I bought a 2001.

Glad you are back!!!

well i fixed the brake line, just bought new tubing and bent and flared and put new fittings on and used a union to splice it. anyways... here is a couple links. to show the new rims i put on, i had some nay-say'ers about them but i think they look good. ill get more pics of the other mods i have done soon.and also a 2 picture i need someone to tell me wtf it is, as far as is it a normal 4x4 block that all of them have or what? cuz as far as i know i dont have an off-road version. and it dont look like an aftermarket lift block. and im planning on lifting it with a 5" lift, and i would like to know if the 5" block will go on top of that or if it takes its place and i only get like 2" actually. let me know.
