Default A/C leaking on floor board possible (drain tube)

I'm working on a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500, every time the a/c is on it pours out water on the passenger floor board while driving. I know this has been covered a lots of times. I'm going to check the drain tube to make sure its not clogged or leaking but i have no clue where its located. If someone could point me in the right direction would be great.

down very low on the firewall. its also very short and only sticks out about 1/2 inch. if cracked, or maybe cracked, apply rtv in/around the seal around the tube at the firewall. if yours is pouring water, it might be stopped up as opposed to cracked seal.

Former dodge mechanic told me they used to extend them with a rubber hose when one came in with a problem. Since they are so short, apparently the water can get blown back up into the drain. Is what he said, anyway. I haven't had any problem on mine so I haven't messed with it, other than putting rtv around it after replacing the heater core, just to be on the safe side.

Awesome thanks for the responses, ill check it out this week. What color RTV do you use around the drain?

Whats the best way to get rid of the mold smell? wash under the rubber floor mat and let it dry in the sun?

any color other than black looks silly.
for wet and smell - sunlight and fan blowing on it.

I just got done working on the truck, i got a hand full of gunk around the drain tube. It works perfect now all the water runs out side.

When i had the floor mats up i saw a lot of dirt water and smelled like ****!! it was bad, i ended up clearning it all up letting it dry out and its like new.

Thank you everyone for helping out.

Default need help!

ok , i have been reading all the inputs here on the ac drain . i have water on my passenger floor board. i didn't get any dirt out of the drain line. and it's still leaking. i heard about a rubber elbow piece to direct it down . i'm still not convinced that it will fix it . but if it does fix it can someone please tell me where to get one. or any other ideas on how to fix this issue. thank you

you could just put a piece of vacuum hose over it, several inches long and strap it down somehow.

or get fancy and use a vaccum tube elbow, something like this.

I just got my ac fixed and have had water leaking on my pass side when running the A/C. I am going to seal around the tube coming out the fire wall. And also put a turn down on it. Does anyone know what size the tube is?
