The old LA motors leaked like crazy which is why Mopar went to the different design on the magnum.
Steel covers are especially prone to warpage.
It's not that you can't seal them, just that sooner or later, they'll start leaking. Count on it.

Yeah the old 318/340/360s were known for their leakage, Chevy was really known for their leakage with there 4 bolt valve covers (IIRC they were 4).

I just posted the link in case anyone wanted to give it a stab and see if they could figure something out.

Yes you are
Where the bolts go in the main body of the valve cover is reccessed back(indented).
Look at mine then compare to the LA, wont work at all.

Probably less leakage with the alum LA covers than stamped steelies.
The alum covers are not flexible like stamped steel.

I knew there was an answer, I just didn't know it... thats why they be called stupid questions..

that is one sweet looking rig there Indy- props to ya..
