That sport model difference in power is BS, the power difference came in the SS/t's and Indys for the earlier years, allot of places just put up numbers without research, just like allot of listing for parts say they dont work on sports when they really do
Ok then! Thanks guys! I am a little surprised at the minimum HP difference though, in my mind I always thought of the 5.9L (360 cid) as the 'bad boy' ! Thanks again guys!
You would be surprized by the difference in power between the 2 V8's, it may not seem like much by numbers but ride in both and it makes a difference.
My wives son has a 01 Sport 4X4 w/5.9L Magnum, but it has bigger tires than stock on it (285's?) and it is a 4X4 (mine is 2WD), that's the only truck with a 5.9L I've been in. Sweet truck, but my "seat of the pants dyno" (lol) says I could take him !! LOL
I do like the additional torque it seems to have on the bottom though and I think he would jump me outta the hole, but hey, who's racin right...........right? LOL
the reason i am origanally asked about sport and non-sport differences was to see there were any differences. then i wanted to know about the differences in the later models. like i said in the origanal post was to see about an axle swap. i want to put the 1 ton axles under my truck. i just wanted to know if there were any differences in the steering components or any other parts. i have heard that they can bolt right up in earlier 2nd gen models. I want to know if I have to get the same yr axles or would any of the same gen axles work.
