How to change a power steering hose?
Haynes manual will prove to be invaluable. Or download this https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...-gen-rams.html
just take off the old one and put on a new one. since its high pressure - tighten it up very tight, something like 30 pounds. also, if one hose is bad, the other is not far behind. i'd replace them both.
while doing this, i'd take the opportunity to change the PS fluid. get a turkey baster from walmart. suck out the old and refill. drive it a little, doing some lock to lock turns. repeat the fluid exchange 2 or 3 times.

Trouble is, when you change lines, you introduce a LOT of air into the system, and the fluid is really frothy for a bit...... I would jack up the front, so the tires were off the ground, remove both lines from the steering box, and then crank the wheels from lock to lock a couple times, to get most of the fluid out of it, drain the reservoir, replace the lines, fill, start then engine, turn from lock to lock a few times, top off the reservoir, shut it down, and let it sit for a while, then repeat, until there was no more froth, and the reservoir was full.
any way is fine, provided you do NOT NOT NOT run the pump dry with engine running.
you can drain and refill with engine off, just don't let anyone tell you to run the engine with the hose removed to pump out fluid. running it dry will damage the pump and its completely unnecessary.
