I would not get this engine. Save yourself about 1000 and just get the camshaft you want. Then, since you will be extracting your current motor, just work on it when it is out of the engine and easily install your camshaft.

Plus, I would CHECK the recipts for every part he has listed and check them out with what is on the MTR. Don't just hand waive it. Check it.

I would not get this engine. all it is is an old block that was machined. STOCK RODS!?!?! this motor is nothing special. 400 RWHP....that is a CROCK. Lets see a dyno sheet.

I look at this motor different from most, I helped my brother build his motor for his chevy and will soon be workin with my dad on his track truck aka the spare truck and guess what building a motor aint cheap, spent just over 3k on my brothers motor and looking to go somewhere around 5k on the spare truck.

even if this motor isnt exactly what you want i think its a good deal, your looking at a couple hundred bucks for a decent block, and a few hundred for the machine work, $300 and change for a cam, thats a 1k right there, would watch the compression ratio, and if anything you can check over the workmanship by taking it back down

If I were looking at this, First call a reputable machine shop in your area and see what they will charge you to inspect a rotating short block assy, plus reassemble, then take that amount off what ever you plan to offer him. I'd give him $700 and take it straight to a machine shop with the idea to spend some money. Just my op

he works at a machine shop so seems like that'd be a little redundant...
