I would pass on it personally, but I would call back and tell him how much you want to spend and if he doesnt have any offers he will most likely call back.

Just search around a little more, I bet you could find a 318/360 V8 for not much more.

If you Really want this one...... (recommendations to NOT do so aside.... the six really isn't enough motor for these trucks, even two wheel drive, and you will NOT get better mileage than you would have the V-8.......)

Make arrangements to go see him, and have the cash that you are willing to pay in your pocket. Point out to him that if the plenum hasn't been fixed yet, that's a couple hundred bucks in repairs that will have to happen. It needs tires immediately... etc. SHOW HIM THE CASH. Nice, Fresh, Crisp, hundred dollar bills. A stack of 'em. If he STILL won't sell..... find another truck. (which you should anyway.)

Thanks. And since yall say the V-6 and V-8 will get about same mpg, what do yall get? I usually try to let autos shift around 2k, or my current car. But sometimes have fun, but what do you get if driving normal?

And which has better gas the 5.2 or the 5.9? I'm guessing the 5.2, but yall own them.
Well look at the link below? Does it seem to cheap? Like something wrong? In same area, and if it has high miles cause of price, what would you say to go up to? Its also a 01

I would like the 4 door more, but only if it runs as good.

Assuming mileage in the neighborhood of 100K, that it runs good, shifts nice, and doesn't have any major problems, not a bad price.... especially from a dealer.

this one s not a bad deal if it not knocking 200k yet if so i would try and talk him down cause like other people have said plenum and head gaskets are a must shortly after or i know with 5.2's anyway of course my had 205k on it and it 1996 1500 2wd v8 and i only paid $650 all that was wrong was that it wouldn't idle and i blew out the idler control and never had a problem since

Thanks again

Well I just got off the phone with the guy..it has 188k miles on it.
He said it needs some paint, but I plan on painting whatever I get black.
But when I asked if the windows worked he said he isn't sure, and the A/c doesn't blow cold. And he said the interior has some wear and tear..so it sounds like a fixer..didn't ask what engine it had.
So how much would the window motors and labor cost? Plus to fix A/C?

I think I am going to avoid this one tho
