Your ECM will have a sticker from the dealer saying that the firmware has been upgraded.

There is a thread in the FAQ section that explains the death flash.

Look for a hand written sticker on the pcm itself or the radiator support.

That would be rare, because most people, like the PO of your truck might take it to the dealer with some sort of problem and the dealer will flash the pcm for some other unrelated issue. And when they flash it, they don't do it for one specific problem. The flash includes everything.

b/c this is a funny **** thread!!!

I believe I have the death flash. This has just been on the back burner for some time now since coming to this bundle of knowledge site. I have yet to confirm it by finding the sticker though.

I have Superchips 3715 (i think) just to mention as its been said that tuners are able to remove it. Again, something to confirm.

I have read the following in the infamous DIY/FAQ section: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ath-flash.html

I'm Example #2 TSB. From that I have an offtopic question under the Diagnosis section.

3. Verify that the engine coolant contains the correct mixture of a quality antifreeze to water. The coolant mixture should consist of 44% to 68% antifreeze.
I just had my coolant system flushed and it was placed 50/50 mixture. Should the above be heeded?
