yes i relized this lol.....but i did have a leak between t-case and tranny, and have found there was no gasket, only rtv, so its obvious on why it started leaking.

You never heard of how you wanted my 2 perfect doors, so I held them for you and turned down other offers for months, only to have you not buy them?

well i have my buddy down from Maine right now, and we decided to look into the internals of the t-case. Well i removed half the casing so i could see all the interior of the T-Case.

As soon as i pulled the case off, i saw little pieces of a gear. It looks like i broke one of the gears and the rest of the teeth on the gear are getting chewed up. Doesnt look to good....Little bit of slack on the chain, and you can see where its wearing down the gear the chain rolls on...

Pretty much it looks like the wole interior of the T-Case went to crap....Im hoping to get my new T-Case Tomorrow...if not tomorrow, ill have to wait unti next thursday at the latest.

do i need both input and output seals? ive already priced them out at 23.99/18.99 at AZ....

but where the t-case meets the tranny, the shaft right there has a brand new seal in it...remember my tranny was rebuilt about 27K ago.....if you look at the pics, you can see the seal (green) it looks mint up close. but which seal is which...i dont believe i have to replace this seal, but where the other seal?

Also Z, i have to bring my buddy home and im meeting his ride back to Maine at the NH liquor store..(how far from you)..do you have the T-case saver? or is it in your T-Case?

I'm about a half hour down 101 off 95. And yes the saver is off. It's brand new, never installed it.

There is no seal between the two. The transmission and transfer case are both sealed units, they don't share fluid.

Replace the transmission output seal. 27,000 miles is old enough to leak when you start messing with it, and it's not worth.

National brand oil seals from Advance have the following part numbers:

Transmission output seal: 710058
231 input shaft seal: 3173
Optional dual lip input seal: 710928
Front output: 710046
Rear output: 4333n

If the case isn't cracked (what does "kinda" cracked mean anyways?), just rebuild what you have. The 231 is so simple you'll feel like an expert putting it back together. New bearings, seals, shift pads, chain, and T case saver should be all you need unless something else is damaged

the casing itself has cracks. looks like a windshield with spider cracks almost. so im not sure if the case is reusable....but i DO plan on rebuilding my 231 for fun and to have for a spare.

how much ZMan?

im on a budget right now because im buying the T-Case, but i do start that new job monday.

When in doubt, pull it out.You don't want to do it twice. Just my 2 cents though...
