So do these look familiar, They aren't "spider" cracks those are the casting marks from when the case was made, We all have them on the T case. Some more some less.

Note: Please don't tell me I need a new case as well it's the way they are made.

I would like to see some pic's of the gears and chain

well my cracks go all the way through, i have the t-case in half right now, and can see the other side.....mine is cracked all the way through, and everywhere....that pic is only like a 6inx6in section of the t-case.....the rest is cracked as well....and i found broken pieces in the inside of the t-case.....so i know those must have been slammed against the casing.

If those were casting marks, then they'd all be identical.A couple more heavy heat cycles and that suckers gonna crack.

ive overheated my tranny about 5 times (while in 4x4) so could that be the cause of the cracks, is the heat?

overheating the trans shouldn't really affect the transfer case. the biggest problem with the t/c in these trucks in the output shaft snap ring breaking, and then parts wandering around inside the case, destroying it, and themselves.
