Truck Quit!!!
Hey guys, i would like to get your thoughts on what happened to the truck this morning. I was approaching a stop sign and noticed it seemed like my power steering went out, well, it did, but only cause the truck quit. All kinds of juice in system but it just would not refire. Overnight and today it has been very wet, which i would like to blame the issue on. Anyways, can we hash around some ideas as to what happened? - Did something get wet, fuel pump or filter toast, how can i diagnose some of these issues?
Thanks
Brad

I assume it's a 94 to 01 dodge ram, since you are here posting your issue. But, is there any chance you could put ALL the info about the truck in your sig?
First thing you should do is check the distributor to see if its cracked or wet inside. You should also see if there any codes stored in the PCM.

Do this, https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...code-list.html But instead of looking at the odometer, count the flashes from the check engine light. Example, one flash with a short pause and 2 more flashes would be 12.
Thanks everyone for your help.
If i were to switch gears a tiny bit can i ask....what should i check for wetness...only the dist? - any other wires, locations that typically get wet and fail perse?
Thanks

The other day I was backing my truck out of the garage and it dies on me three times. So I replaced the battery terminal (which it was in really bad shape) and it hasnt missed a step yet.

Any of the various sensor plugs could have moisture and or be corroded. The PCM plugs are right under the hood gasket too. Check the battery terminals as stated above (good call btw). In any event, disconnect the negative battery cable before removing any of the plugs on the pcm or sensors.
