Default ignition problem???

I have a 99 dodge and the door dinger still goes off when the key is off position. I have to pull the key all the way out for it to stop even when all the doors are closed. Also I have to have the key in the on position for my interior lights to come on when I have the door open. Any clue to what might this be???

Something is definitely awry there. But, I think you have more than one problem.

My key, If I pull it out just a notch or two, the dinger stops. It does NOT ding if the doors are closed. (I don't think....... can't remember...... )

Dome light should come on whenever you open the door, regardless of key position. Unless, you have a switch for them somewhere? (my van does...... On, Off, or Door.)
