Default Charging AC?

1994 Dodge ram 1500 L 5.9 auto tranny 4x4. Last year I had the ac topped off worked well for a season, it's getting hot again & IO need to top it off. I'm told you can top it off with a charger/sealer. Anyonme know where I can buy the charger/sealer?
Thanks

I would suggest taking it in. As a prior heating air guy there is a specific amount of freon the system is designed to take. I would want it hooked up to the gauges to see it gets the EXACT amount. My friend overfilled one and it made icecubes in the vents... But Im **** and tend to do things by the book. Most of the time because i tried to cheat and it ended up costing me up the **** to fix my mistake.. lol.

I second that.
An overcharged system can cool as poorly as an undercharged system, only more dangerous.
Sealer????? I worked on Automotive A/C for 10+ years and never heard of it. Even if it does exist, I wouldn't put anything that is capable of sealing high pressure in an A/C system. That can't be good for the compressor or dryer.

I have seen the recharge kits at both Advanced Auto and at Wal-Mart. The kit comes with the hoses but no gauges. However, the instructions said that it had a presure relief value so that one could not overfill the system. Check em out and see what ya think.

Well I did find a can of R134a with sealer/conditioner built in. I found it at Autozone for $12.00. You also need a hose to adapt the can to the low pressure valve on the AC. The hose (no gauge) costs $10.00. But I got lucky. Autozone has a clearance bin. I found a AC gauge & hose set in the bin for .99 cents. I added the contents of the can. Now the AC blows ICE COLD!. Not bad for 12.99.
Thanks

Just make sure...whatever you do...DON'T OVERCHARGE IT! Chrysler evaporators and condensers are crap. The compressors aren't much better. I love my Mopars, but living in Florida, I want my a/c to work at 100%, 100% of the time. Of the 5 Dodge's that I have owned, 4 of them gave me a/c problems. I got into the habit of keeping a thermometer in my center vent a few years ago, and it helps me keep an eye on the system.

Im having the same problem with my air condition. Last summer I hooked my truck up to the robinar machine and evacuated the system and reharged it. I injected the uv dye in the system and couldn't find any leaks. It worked all summer and through the fall. I just tried it today and it's not cold at all. Im guessing since I just charged it 1 year ago that I might have a slow leak. Are there an sensors that i might have to replace? Should I take it in to a shop to have them find the leak or is there anyone who might be able to point me in the right direction on how to get this fixed? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hey Mopar:
Most times they leak from the seal around the shaft coming from the compressor. I had the same issue (slow leak) but this year when I charged it I used R134a with stop leak. I won't know until next season if it held (last year I got a season out of it). Time will tell.
Good Luck
Bob
