Well seems to be working great. In addition my defrost only when accelerating issue seems to have gone away. It holds front vents even when gassing it uphill.
Also, not sure if it's related, but before my cruise control would not hold steady if I hit an incline. On a 200 or so yard hill, I'd lose maybe 5-7 mph. Now it's holding quite well.

On another note, my 3" 1/4" socket extension seems to have gone missing, and the last I remember using it was on a bolt inside the dash. I have a sneaking suspicion where it might be.... lol.

Thanks everyone for all your help.

Happy to see you got everything back together.

Trust me I know about losing tools in a job, Now I keep my tools on a rag / bench And check that I have everything before putting anything back on.

Try this something an oil grumpy mechanic tooled me, Think of your tools just like they were your kids. I do not have kids but I do not loan out or lose my tools...

Like I said this removal and install should be in the DIY section.

thats wild vents that you described dodge33. the check valve is next to your intake on the passenger side about 3'' from the back of the motor, it looks like a T or Y and costs about $7-8 to replace

I'm replacing my heater core and I came across this post and my question is my heat and ac when on and im driving down the road and hit the gas the ac/heat goes from coming out the vents to going out the defroster and then switches back and forth. If I'm reading this rite then all I have to do is replace this part under the hood and this will fix the problem?????

it will reduce the problem, but, maybe not eliminate it completely.

if i get a heatercore with rigid / non movable pipes will i have to disconnect ac lines ?
then if i do , do i have to recharge ac system if not using ac ? also if i open up ac lines can i just undo couplers in engine compartment by firewall by hand and not worry about the system being pressurized and blowing freon or whatever out ? as ive no idea because have never worked on ac system in truck
