NV242 in '98 Ram
i got everything in except the front driveshaft and drove the truck home today. Fortunately for me, I have a ton of old Explorer parts (and whole old explorers) in my yard, so I should be able to find a driveshaft somewhere
I have to ask, why a custom rear driveshaft? mine works just fine. Both cases are 19.25" inches (roughly) long.
Does the case to the front output seem longer? If it's the same, or minimally different, you should be able to get a new end yoke to replace the flange style that your front is. Call Six States and let them know what you're doing.
BTW, the 242 is a great t-case when it's minimally slippery. I wish the Ram had it when it's real wet and I need some grip.

as an update on this project, i've put a couple thousand miles on the NV242 t-case in my Ram, but I've yet to put the front driveshaft in, so i can't comment on the AWD.
however, the NV242 seems to do well behind the Ram transmission.
