Does anyone with 35's have 4.10's or 4.56's because I don't see how the mileage could be better ?

I have 35's on my truck but I have the stock gears. It takes more rpm's to turn the tires and keep them moving so I'm constantly down shifting and running in a lower gear whenever I want to accelerate. With taller gears you can still accelerate with out having your tranny kick down a gear so you wind up running at a lower rpm. I hope this helps.

So what kind of mileage are you getting and are you happy with your gears ?

The taller gears allow you to stay in overdrive when hitting grades where as the smaller gears would kick you down a gear to keep you at your rate of speed when climbing the grade. Think of it this way, with the taller gears you are running in overdrive, with smaller gears you are running in 3rd more often, keeping your RPM's higher.

Not to jack this thread or throw it off track, but i was thinking about putting some 2500 coils and leafs on my truck. My question is could i still use my spacer and block. My coil spacer is a 2.5in and its a 3in black in the rear. So can i still use them if i went with the 2500 parts?

If you are going to go to the expense of changing gears (which isn't cheap by the way....) Don't half *** it. Do the 4.56 gears, keep the engine within its stock rpm range, your gas mileage won't suffer as much as a numerically lower ratio, your trans will live longer, and overall, you will be happier with the experience.

The rears will go right in, ratio doesn't matter, if you go with the 4.56 gears, you will need to either replace the carrier in the front axle, or, get thick cut gears. I have seen carriers for as little as 65 bucks for a used one off of EBay. (and as expensive as 900 for a selectable locker.....)
