what's wrong with your trans ?
is this on the 2500?
did you keep the wrecked 1500?
can you put that one in ?

Front band(s) is shot, the adjusting screw is in so far in , it is even with the nut. And now it does not want to shift into 2nd unless I go real lite on the throttle or lift and it will shift. And yes, I'm planning on swapping the 98 trans with 157K that works perfect. Keep the 2000 bad one and have it rebuilt when I win the lottery.

i honestly just put my truck on ramps when i replaced my trans.it made it alot easier. i didnt drop my exhaust, though it made it a bit more challenging but we got it done. with the truck on ramps, once i got the rear driveshaft out i was able to completely sit up under the truck and work on it much easier! also, i did my work on my lawn, but it was the end of august so it was MUCH warmer. ive been wearing shorts as of late, i seem to have a knack for the cold weather...haha

Well I've got jacks and jack stands, and close to 2 feet of clearance to the ceiling, so good to go there. I need to get some parts, like, I'm getting a new TC, one new line and all the seals. All we have to do is get the tranny out of the 98 truck , then the tranny out of the 2000, replace the freeze plugs(on 2000 truck) and front tranny seal, and put it back in. Once that is done, time permitting, I can replace the seals on rear of tranny and front of TC and install the TC. If no time , I can actually do everything my self, after the tranny is in. Obviously, I will get things going before hand, like draining fluids and such. Best part is, I have heat in the garage. LOL

I'm thinking this weekend, I have the freeze plugs already, (providing they are the right size) and the seal and Torque converter should not be a problem to get tomorrow or Friday.
