ok so i could get away with splicing all 3 wires together and hooking them directly to a single fuse tap? why are there 2 fuse spots on the top of the fuse tap?

If you splice all three together and one shorts out, it could short them all. The best way is to have a single positive feed from a switched source, like the cigarette lighter, to a fuse block that separates out to 3 separate feeds and powers each gauge. You can use a common ground for all of the gauges.

As far as wire is concerned, run the same gauge or slightly larger from the point that you tap the cigarette lighter to the fuse block to account for any additional resistance. For the ground, I always go.a gauge larger than than the feed, as you can't really overground.

There are two fuse spots on the tap to cover both circuits. One for the circuit you tapped into (use fuse the fuse you pulled) and another for the new power lead.

No, you need to FIX the short, and THEN replace the fuse.

Supposedly, it shouldn't. In actual practice? How's your luck?
