It if works the way it looks like it should in the 01 wiring diagram, tapping the fuse in the junction block is AFTER the headlight switch, so, if the gauges are capable of dimming, they should.
yea ok good deal. wouldnt take much effort to tap a different fuse if that one didnt work out anyhow. BUT would the gauges work if the headlights werent on? since there would be no illumination

That depends on how the gauges are wired. If there is a separate feed for illumination, and another for power, shouldn't be an issue. Would have to see 'em to tell for sure.... installation instructions should mumble something about it.

Go by what the manufacturer suggests... That should be in the installation instructions too..... I would hope.
it said to use a 3 amp fuse if its connected to an unfused source, but since ill be connecting all three gauges together, shouldnt i use something larger?
also the gauges have 18 g wire, when i tie them into 1 wire to run to the tap, should i use 16g or something bigger?
ive been reading on DF as well as other forums and found that theres 4 or 5 different ports that the trans temp sender can be plugged into, which port is best?
If your thinking of the test ports, then I'd hate to say your wrong. Those ports only get lube in certain gears so you'd get false readings. The pest place to put it is either in the pan or in the feed lines. That's according to a lengthy conversation I had with MonteC. You'r call though.
