The idea behind them is, NO ring gap. The ends overlap a bit, providing for ring tension, and thermal expansion. Benefits are reduced blowby..... and better compression numbers. I saw numbers almost 10% higher than what I expected in the one motor I got the opportunity to install them in. (440 Magnum in a '71 Challenger.....) Unfortunately, the car didn't last long enough to get it on a dyno. Some lady in a firebird pulled out in front of him and opposed to hitting her, he went off the road instead, clipped a mailbox, and whacked a telephone pole.... car was totaled less than four days after completion.......

Bear in mind, I do not have them for sale.... nor am I affiliated with the company in any way, nor do I get a commission should you purchase them.

So long as the thicknesses are correct, them would be the ones.

Make sure even if you use the total seals to make the openings 180* from each other

doing some research and found some debate regarding gapless top vs gapless second ring... some say pressure builds b/w the top and second ring and escapes through the top making a gapless second pointless??

will do the 180*. as far as conventional rings go... what is the point in setting gaps 120* apart, the rings spin anyhow and that seperation wont last?

HAD NO IDEA SO MUCH THOUGHT GOES INTO BUILDING AN ENGINE! WEVE DEBATED OVER COUNTLESS TOPICS!!!

Rings shouldn't move all that much....

Yeah, engine building is the closest thing to black magic you will find outside of automatic transmissions.

Umbrella type seals? Yeah, they all look alike. They all do the same job though.

i left the entire bottom end with him so he can mock it up and press the new .040 KB's onto the rods. although id like to hear a hone will do (he said he didnt think boring it would be necessary at first, but then i showed it to him and he changed his mind) but if boring is necessary, i guess its worth it.
So you're going 40 over on a stock block? Did they sonic check it? 40 over is a lot for a newer 360 block. Some of the early 70s blocks are OK to take to 40, but they had a higher nickle content which made em heavier/stronger...Mopar cheaped out to make the block lighter and get better gas mileage.
