the shame of it all- a 5.7 will do that dang near stock.. or around 300~310.. but he will have a platform to do a lot more with it should he choose- AND, I figure a stroked magnum will outlast a hemi any day if they're both built solid.. but this is just my figurin'..

I was thinking the same thing. My bro just bought a 2011 with the hemi and its nassstty. very fast truck...his truck was 35k though. I like having cheaper things with lots of horsepower.

I think he'll be more like 350 crank, maybe a bit more, it's not much more than a 360 with a few bolt ons and a few more cubes....But it'll have some sweet torque numbers.

He needs more head/headers/cam/intake/TB before he puts down 400 crank HP.

ofcourse desktop dyno isnt the real deal, BUT it can come close. I averaged from a few different programs and got 397hp/464tq.

id hope to get the truck on the dyno when all is said and done, so ill have some proof

ill be ordering pistons and rings w/ gapless 2nds tomorrow, hope to have it back in the shop by middle of next week and then back in the garage in a week or so

Man gobs o torque too. That's where you have the hemi beat. You're building a real truck engine there. You could tow a house up Everest at 90mph with those numbers.

torque is where it's at anyway.. horsepower is talked about way too much.. those are some really nice numbers too- and will give you a helluva lotta punch with that rig.

Default On your way!

Relief has happened and now you're on your way. Your engine will be ready to rock soon. My son, who built my engine, did go with the 10.5 iCon forged pistons because he felt they matched the quench nicely of the R/T heads.
We did use KB hypers in a 360 drag engine and they worked well with a set of the modded up old J heads. You are going to love this engine.
