ok, just to update in case anyone was curious. the blocks at a yet ANOTHER local race shop awaiting sonic testing. the guy said the readings may not be as accurate as they could be on cylinders 2,4,6 where they are a bit pitted at the top. he said the middle of the cylinder is the most important because there is no support in that area. he is doing a probe every 120* around top, middle and bottom on each cylinder. he seems very knowledgeable and has been building circle track competition engines for over 40 years.
all other parts are at the original builder's shop awaiting the completion of the sonic test. I on the other hand, i am crossing my fingers in hopes of good results!
i am going to go with gapless 2nds

just reviewing some flow charts... the R/T 2.02 heads flow less than 5 cfm more than the 1.92's at .500 lift... good thing i didnt bother with them... seems like wasted effort and money
and speaking of heads... how do i know which side is which? theyre gasket/port matched, so i guess i can see what gasket looks the best on the intake manifold and head, any better ideas?

If you whistle the right tune, the engine will assemble itself. Trouble is, no one remembers what that tune was......
When will you have results back from the sonic check?
