We have Crossfire seats in our truck now, they are surprisingly comfy on long drives, and full power adjustability certainly helps

I'm referring more to a new truck.... I'm not going to go swapping seats on a brand new truck. The damn thing better come with comfy seats.

"hey, do you mind if I take this for a test drive? I want to see how comfy the seats are"

"sure"

..... 3 days later....

"they're not as comfy as I had hoped, thanks anyway"

"YOU PUT 5,000 MILES ON THE TRUCK?!"

"I really needed to make sure I liked the seats on a long drive"

......!(&!@$!.....

Get a 2nd gen 12 valve with a stick. Cheap and in-de-freakin'-structible. Or buy a rolled one and swap the motor/tranny/D80 into your '96.

If I wanted an old truck, I'd just keep the one we have.

Point of getting another truck, is to get a new one, with a warranty, that tow considerably more. If you can find me a 2g with a warranty, that can reliably out-tow my V10... then by all means, show me the way!

No need for a warranty with a 12 valve

In all seriousness, I get what you are saying.

EDIT: Ramcountryboy beat me to it!

LOL, it's the whole truck in general that just pisses me off. One our trip last week I was talking to Emilie about getting new leaf springs for the rear, new tires for the front, making new spark plug wires, and other random ****. That's going to end up being another $2k worth of work and all it's going to do is break again. The powertrain on this truck is great. Engine/trans are super solid... it's just the rest of the truck that's a POS and gives us problems. Problems I don't need when we're on the road.

It wouldn't be a big deal if I got paid to work on my own truck, but I get paid to work on OTHER peoples' POS vehicles, not my own . I'm just tired of working on this thing only to have the next problem surface right after I fixed the last. It's a never ending cycle with this truck. It's a shame, there is A LOT of money in this thing.... like $22k worth. It's sad really.

Holy smoke....

There's a trick to it ya know.... Ya keep fixin' stuff until something breaks you don't care about..... then, DON'T fix it, and you break the cycle.
