engine lugging badly/ vibrating in lower rpms. help!!
There is a special tool to release the fuel line. You can get them at the parts store pretty cheap..... basically, it wraps around the line, inserts into the fitting, and releases a couple spring clips in there, so you can then pull the line off. Inside the female connector, are one or more O-rings. Sounds like you need to replace them.
the haynes manual says the line is non-serviceable so im guessing i need a new one?
i was able to remove the line without the special tool several times with ease... just depress the plastic tabs at the very end of the connection, right?

ok, i bought a new fuel line, now i know you said something about a tool. what is the tool called that i need, so that i can disconnect the hard line from the soft line? the connection is made right under the front of the cab. the soft line goes over the hard line and has a metal end with 2 plastic tabs sticking out past the metal end
Good day to all. I am a noob to the site but enjoying it immensely so far. I have a couple of questions unrelated to the above topic but I don't know how or where to start a new thread. I have a 98 1500 360 and I would like to do a body lift on her. I have heard of using hockey pucks and just jacking it up. Is this, in fact possible? If so.... how? Thanks guys/gals have a great one out there.
hmmmm, thats new to me... go with a kit, theyre about $100, and they come with new bolts and bumper brackets that you WILL NEED , as well as the "pucks".
i just got finished removing my bed to swap the fuel pump and its pretty simple, you wont even need to remove it all the way though. just have an extra set of hands to lift the bed while you slip the "puck" in.
the cab may be just a little more interesting, with the wiring, steering, and the fan shroud; but its certainly doable in just a few hours.
my bolts werent rusted but you may want to spray some penetrating oil on yours, just in case.
on a thread related note, my fuel pump install was a sucess, the new fuel line ($90
) took care of the leak! im almost to a half tank of fuel so we'll see how she does!
i cant imagine it acting up again, i dont see any other possible causes...
