Default ebay pocket fender flares?

anyone have a set of them, and pics of what they actually look like? they are quite a bit cheaper than the bushwackers, but the BW flares only claim to add 3" of additional tire coverage where the other brand is claiming 3.5", yet in the pics, the BW flares look wider????

i got pulled over by the wonderfull CHP this morning, and now have to install flares, mudflaps and remove the tint from my front windows, here are the options...

It's cheaper to buy flares then it is glass fenders and a lot easier. Most people on this forum do not have access to the types of things you recommend bigredone or the money or means to fab everything. Don't get me wrong, your way is the professional way, but well beyond what 95% of the forum is looking for.

Really? I've bought multiple sets of glass fenders for about $200 for my Rangers. I paid $300 for the glass on my Expedition. How is that more expensive then the egay stuff the OP is looking at? With fiberglass fenders you have the potential for future modifications like flexy/ long travel suspension, with flares you get stick on rice.

I don't know what the babble about access or means you are talking about is. Get on the interwebs, pound the pavement, do the research, talk to some people, and you can have anything you want. Call up shops, shipping companies, suppliers, whoever you need to to save a buck. I sure as hell do. You just have to be willing to do the homework. I only do things the professional way, because that's the best way. I will continue to post how to do things the best way. Because who knows, maybe I'll inspire someone else to spend their money more wisely, build a better vehicle, or build a better product.

I understand where you are coming from and I do agree that it is the way to go. But he is also going to need something for the rear of his truck also unless I missed something galas fenders is not going to help him there. I am not saying that you should stop posting how to do it the best way, just realize that most of the things you suggest are falling on deaf ears, because most of us don't have access to fab shops and stuff of the like and it is easier and cheaper to just purchase the parts. Just my 2 cents, no disrespect intended.

I am going to guess not for a dodge though..... cheapest I have seen is 355.00 for a pair, and that isn't going to help in the back.

yep the chp's can be a real pain around here, but it is the law, your fender must cover the tread, by flare, smaller tire, or whatever means, and if more than 50% of tire height is visable from the back, you have to have mudflaps, bunch of BS, most stock trucks have more than 50% visable, but the truck had been like this since 04, so my time was numbered anyway, oh, well...

TheBigRedOne...why do you have to turn every post into an argument? glass fenders are not my style, nor would they have any benifits for me, and i asked about flares, not fenders, and what does the price of ford fenders have to do at all with a dodge? even if you could find them for that price, which you cant, its still going to cost a lot more, between prep work and painting, and the pile of extra time it would take for install, it would comeout nowhere near the price of flares, not to mention that doesnt do anything for the rear,

i dont like the looks of any of my options, but i have to do something and there is no way around it, pocket style flares (to me anyway) seem to me the least disturbing idea, if anyone has any usefull info, please share, if not, lets atleast try to be friendly and keep on topic

I was looking at those flares also and the only thing I don't like about them is the 3M tape used as part of the install. I am not sure if that is also how BW installs theirs. I have found another listing by the same seller that doesn't mention the 3M tape but looks like the same flares. If you are required to cover them by law and you can't afford the BW which I think are way overpriced, this is probably your next best bet.

the 3m isnt too bad if you have to remove it, 3m also makes an eracer wheel that takes it off nicely, but i think i would almost rather go with the 3m tape, instead of bare, like srock ones that dig into the paint, the price doesnt bother me, tho it would be nice to keep as much as possiable for the holidays, i just need whatever is the widest, (i think the tires are hanGing around 4" out), but it does need to look decent too... maby i will just order the cheaper ones, and if i dont like them, i'll send them back, hopefully i can find some actuall installed pics before i have to go that route tho
