Any sort of light that doesnt come directly on the vehicle from the factory is illegal in Texas as far as I know. Also as long as they cant see the bulb or LED themselves they are legal to have on the vehicle when your parked. What are the laws in other states?

I've had a bunch of friends install lights/sirens in their vehicle's. The main problems ive seen with drilling into the headlights/tail lights are A: they use the wrong bit and crack the assembly or B: the seal where the new light is installed lets moisture into the assembly. Im on 2 different fire departments, and we run red lights. But if im not mistaken, you can run amber lights as a civilian (all of the tow trucks and alot of peoples work trucks have them in wisconsin)

As far as install goes, i saw a bunch of videos on youtube. all of them stress using a good sealant to avoid moisture...
