No fuses involved. Your trans is purely hydraulically controlled, except for fourth gear, and TCC. You haven't even gotten that far.....

Sounds for all the world like you are still low on fluid, or, not getting the pressure you need. Given that the governor in yours is purely mechanical...... not a good sign.

Well the 2nd gear shift uses the kickdown band if I remember right. You can adjust this from outside the trans.

With no metal in the pan it does not sound like the trans is due for a rebuild. Very odd circumstances though. If I had my books I probably could help more. I can only diagnose from what I remember right now.

Yes neutral, and shift through all gears prior to checking too. You are supposed to check when the fluid is warm too but you can't warm it up. It will be a little low because of this. There may to 2 small holes in the dipstick that mark the cold fluid level.

Ill have to do that and check it again, I mean does this seem like something that could be caused by a band? I mean it was working fine than I pulled into my driveway stopped and went to move again and got nothong so had to shift to 1st... when it first happend I went to reverse and the truck just shut off.. did ot twice than tried first an it was fine.. an after it moved so was reverse, there were no loud clunls or grinds or anything haha these dodge transmissions are really different haha

I forgot while I don't have my books you can get the 2001 service manual on this site. There is a tranny diagonis section (21-490ish). You have the 46RH tranny but the internal opertion is the same as the 46RE. You simply have a mechanical governor rather than the governor pressure sensor/solenoid. Take a look and maybe you can find one common problem.

After looking at this you should disconnect the shift linkage at the tranny and manually shift it using the tab (its easy). You will need a helper to hold the brakes while you shift it.

So I have come to find now that where my tailhousing of the trans meets the transfer case its leaking (slowly) after a band adjustment and a few other procedures im starting to get it to move a little more and more... Just wondering if my transfer case is low on fluid.. could that prevent Drive, 2 from engaging??? Because I have 1, reverse with no problems... and if I shift into 4L I can get it to move a little better...

Transfer case is purely mechanical, so, it either works, or it doesn't. There isn't really an in between. Reason it moves a little more in 4 lo, it is geared down, so, the trans doesn't have to work as hard to get the truck to go. Still sounds like a trans issue.
