It is a LOT beefier and heavier than a stock TB. I believe I'm going to hang on to this one, at least for a while anyway.

^Didn't you have it in the "parts for sale" section for $375? BTW, Where did you get it at?

Yes I did but changed my mind and decided to keep it. I got it from a guy in Warren, MI that said his wife had bought it at an estate sales years ago and it had been on the shelf in his garage ever since.

I think I'm going to remove the stepdowns above the blades, the 2 tabs on top that hold the stock airhat assembly and polish up the bores a little. I may even make the throttle shaft flat on top like it is on the bottom and then bolt it on my RT and see how it performs.

thats a cool one-of-a-kind part with a cool back story too.
i wonder if the engineers a dodge ever imagined their prototype part selling at a estate sell?

i wish i could get ahold of the rest of that motor!

Oh, this is not a one-of-a-kind prototype. I've seen this TB before and have read threads of people talking about them but no one seems to have any specific background info. I'm just curious about the history.

Well, I decided to personalize the TB. I took it apart, removed the stepdown above the blades making it a full 52mm all the way thru, remove the stock air assembly tabs on top, flattened the throttle shaft on top to match the underside and then installed it on my RT. This thing is a friggin' BEAST!

What did you use to enlarge the throttle bores?

Even though the TB is BFN and has never been run on an engine before, it had been bolted to an intake at one time according to the marks around the mounting bolts. The type of engine it was mounted on would be very interesting to know.

I have a fine cutter that I use in my hand drill to remove the major portion of the step down and then finish it up and fine tune it with a 150 grit and then a 240 grit flap wheel.
