purge valve on a 97 ram

Default purge valve on a 97 ram

well i am clueless on where to even look for this thing. my check engine lights been on for like 2 weeks and i cant remember the code but it was for the purge valve. any idea how to replace this thing? the light is really driving me crazy.

The purge valve solenoid on my 97 is on the rear driver side fuel rail. It has 2 vacuum hoses and 1 small wire harness on it.

Yes, I should have been a little more clear. The fuel injector rail.

Thanks it seems like its fairly easy to replace, and its a fairly cheap part. which im glad the check engine lights in these trucks are really bright and obnoxious lol

I just had the same thing today PO443 (evap emission control system, purge control valve circuit malfunction)

if the purge solenoid is full of charcoal, youll need a new canister as well, or you can ditch the canister and buy a new solenoid and just allow the fuel vapor to escape into the atmosphere. that way you wont risk getting charcoal particles in the engine. no CEL either

So if you ditch the canister, what about the lines going into it
