Default Where are the head light relays

I have a 1999 ram and I need to find both head light relays under the hood if thats where they are. I need to add two more relays to the truck relays for my snow plow lights.

I did see one smell one there, but how would you get to the back side of the relay to add the wiring for the plow lights. In the paper I have it shows there is 2 relays on the truck. Will post link in a few to the wiring I have here.

Some folks have one. Some folks have two. I only have one in my truck as well. (96 Sport)

I would guess that you would have to pull the PDC and roll it over, and see what things look like.

http://library.fisherplows.com/ddcom...017_031599.pdf

You will also see a pur wire and BRN, Gray wire. I need to find out where they go as well. I'm not the greatest at AUTO wiring, but can wire a home with my eyes closed

Factory Service Manual. (PDF download, this is safe. I promise.)

Grab the FSM. There are wiring diagrams in there that will show you what you have on your truck.

I have no idea if there is going to be room in your PDC for the additional relays, but, with the wiring diagrams (which hopefully has wire colors listed that actually correspond to what you have in your truck......) you can find the correct wires, and do what ya gotta do.

One thing that has always made me wonder though is, the wiring diagrams in the FSM do NOT show actually using the headlight relays..... but, they are there, and without 'em the headlights don't work..... That one baffles me....

Edit: Relay is only for the quad headlamps?

Well, I don't have to install the relays in the box itself. The wiring came with jumper wires to go from the truck relays to the plow light relays

If I am reading it right, only the quad headlamp models actually use the relays????

I am so confused.

I had the wiring for the quad head lights and the wires going to the head lights them selfs was different. I wait out today and got the new wiring in hopes of just being able to plug and play, but as we can see it not that way. The plugs for the head lights them self plug right in now, but need to wire the relays so they work as they should. The main head lights should go off when the plow is turned on and then the plow lights take over if this makes since

Is your truck actually equipped with quad headlights?
