Sticking 4wd light
Lately i have noticed my 4wd light sticks on when i take it out of 4wd(started using 4wd daily and usually all day-every day since oct since i live in mt) but anyway last few days i havent needed it on the hwy as often and every time i take it out it goes in to 2wd no problem but the 4wd light stays on and doesnt go off until i restart the truck or play with the 4wd shifter... Again it goes in and out of 4wd with no issue just the light seems to be sticking on.
I have the same issue with my truck except my 4x4 light stays on all the time!
I fixed it with a piece of electrical tape over the light... that thing got annoying at night time! (See HeyYou... already picking my battles and deciding not to fix stuff!)

you could have a couple of different problems.
the 4wd indicator light switch could be sticking closed, and giving you a false light. as sheriff said, you can remove the light switch from the end of the cad and inspect, fix, or replace it. its not expensive, under $20.
or the cad itself could be sticking with the axle halves coupled up. the only downside of this is more drag, more parts turning, and less mpg. but, if you are using your 4wd off and on every day, its no big deal. it just means that when you shift back to 4wd, your cad is already engaged and that's one less thing that can go wrong.
to get my cad to disengage, i used to have to stop, back up, pull forward, back up again. this process took the tension off the axle and allowed the sluggish little cad to retract the collar

Mine does this too a lot of the time. The 4WD light likes to stay on for a while after I take it out, sometimes it'll go out shortly after, sometimes it doesn't matter how many times I back up and pull ahead.... Usually if it's still on when I shut the truck off it'll be out the next time I start er up...
