Default 5.2L engine swap - regulated fuel rail?

Hi all,

I'm swapping a '96 5.2L into my Jeep YJ. I don't have the engine yet but need some help. My Jeep fuel pump is unregulated and uses a fuel return line to the tank. I will be using a '95 ECM and harness to maintain the obd-I.

Does the 96 have a regulated fuel rail with a fuel return? If it doesn't, would a '95 or earlier fuel rail work?

Thanks

Do any earlier years of the 5.2 have a regulator on the fuel rail?

Plastic or metal? You could always install a fitting for a return line.

My wrangler already has the return line. I'm curious if there are any Ram 5.2 years that may have the regulator on the fuel rail, so I can use my return line.

My plastic fuel tank doesn't accomodate the in-tank regulators (yet - sawsall is still in the case).

Another option would be an inline fuel filter with a provision for a return line...... You can plumb the regulator in wherever you really want to...... Don't know if there are stock parts for what you have in mind.

so why a 5.2l magnum? there are so many other power plants that have a bigger after market, which equals cheaper parts!

thats unless you trying to keep your jeep all mopar, and in that case go for it!

Yep, keeping it in the family. I just found that a Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2 has a regulated fuel rail.
