this is an unabashed hijack:

I just installed the Ford Motorsport 4 hole injectors.. the ones listed as an upgrade on five-o... I dumped the single hole OEM ones.. they were the red ones..

I swear, it seems the truck is running really rich.. could those OEM injectors been so far gone that they weren't doing what they were supposed to be doing? Or, are the Ford Motorsport ones pumping a lot more than what they are advertised? (22lns also)..

How long will it take the PCM to adjust to them, and will it ever adjust for open loop or am I just going to be rich from now on when starting?

The computer operates off of tables for open loop. It will never alter those tables. Need a tuner for that.

What pressure were those injectors rated at?

Those injectors will run fat at WOT. Really fat. You need a tuner to dial them down, or you'll be in the 10's at WOT.

Ford injectors are rated at 39psi, which is what Ford runs their fuel systems at.

They were rated @ 22# @ 43.5psi.. Which is the exact same a s the stock 'red' ones... I'm thinking I'm rich, but I won't know until I get the computer hooked up to it to find out.. Or a a/f wideband...dang it...

I've heard to this five-O guy making mistakes when he posts information and getting confused when he speaks it..

I can only comment from what I saw running them in my truck on my wideband. Fat at WOT, everything else could be handled by the pcm adjusting to the O2 sensor readings.

Hemifever got it dialed in on the second try. The first tune he sent was reading about 12.5 at WOT, he pulled just a pinch more and got it right on the button at 12.8:1.

I'll add that the 5.9L computer will run even richer than mine as the pulse width is a bit longer on the stock injector in the bigger ci engine, which will cause a larger injector to fire even more fuel.

I appreciate it man..

what data will Sean need when I send him my a/f? I have a computer program and a USB-to-OBDII cable, and can capture a good bit of info. Is it just the a/f dial at various RPM's he needs?

and, I'm completely agreeing with you Aim4, all a person would have to do is stand behind the truck to tell it's running rich.

So after all of that great info has been put out there, can anyone tell me will putting elts say 21lb/ injectors in a 318 cause it to maybe backfire when really getting on the gas? I already seem to have made a mistake by getting the accell #21 injectors for my truck. 2 of my stock injectors broke when removing to do the plenum repair and kegger mod so i decided to purchease the accell before doing any research. The accell injectors are rated @ 21lb/hr and now when i ease into the pedal the engine will slowly rev higher, and when i stomp on the pedal the engine will pop and bog. Oh boy. Should have left it alone.
