i would invest in either some 4.56 gears to put some ease on your tranny and get some low end torque back or invest in some dana 60's
i feel bad for your axles.....give em time and their gonna show their ugly side.......everyone used to tell me the same thing and i used to say pish posh to that....whelp....they were right.......now theres dana 60's under the truck

Clean the pan and the magnet, take the Governor Solenoid out clean it too. And adjust the bands. You may get some more miles out of it.

whlep i drop the tranny and between getting told i could get it rebuilt for free and just part and now the guy cant i decide to tear into it a tad. well i pull the over drive unit and notice the spendle is really lose and sound rough when i turn it and notice the spendle end is pretty tore up so i am assumeing thats where my metal shavings came up, but i did not notice anything bad aafter i pulled the valve body so yall think maybe the overdrive unit is bad and my bands and everything is still good i mean i am no tranny guy but would hate to have to buy a remanu one when its just a overdrive unit

If you have metal shavings migrating thru the trans, you might be able to get away with just doing the O/D unit now.... however, your trans is going to be a ticking time bomb.... and it will 'go off' when it is LEAST convenient for you.
